We had a local author and illustrator visit! We had 5th graders come down and show us how to use the 3D computer. we used a program that looked like the rainforest with butterflies. What a great connection to afternoon on the amazon!
we used pattern blocks to build our own rock formations! what great engineers we are!
Thanks to a grant I wrote that was funded by the seekonk land conservation trust, we had the mad science in school workshop on dry ice. we learned all about the different states of matter-- solids, liquids, and gases. we learned a neat new word- sublimation (when a solid changes into a gas). take a look at all the experiments we were able to be enjoy.
happy 100th day of kindergarten! We had lots of interactive and hands on 100th day experiences. we drew and wrote about what we would shop for with $100 and why we wanted that item. we built with 100 legos, wrote some 100 poems, built some count by 10's ice cream and had fun with our guess the 100 bag items. And we were all crowned 100 days smarter!
